AutoCAD & AutoCAD LT

AutoCAD & AutoCAD LT Essentials 3 day course

Designed for the new AutoCAD user who needs to produce 2D production drawings. It covers the most commonly used features, commands, and techniques with a strong focus on the best practice techniques for using AutoCAD in New Zealand. Includes Autodesk Official Training Courseware (AOTC).

AutoCAD & AutoCAD LT Short Courses (1.5 hours)

SC01: Setup & CAD Management

Best Practice to Install & Configure AutoCAD & LT for your office so everyone is singing off the same song sheet.

SC02: Document Management

Lots of people need access to your drawings but not everyone needs the DWG files. We look at how to manage your drawings revisions & previous versions; Utilising DWF & PDF’s; the drawing review process using tools available to the whole team including Autodesk DWF Design Review & DWG True View.

SC03: Plotting & Publishing:

Streamline the plotting process. Learn how to create a tool to plot your standard drawings with 1 mouse click saving you time & money.

SC04: The Sheet Set Manager:

This is one of the best new feature added to AutoCAD in the past few years. Manage title blocks, Plot a whole set of drawings with 3 mouse clicks, Archive projects + much more. Not applicable to AutoCAD LT.

SC05: Dynamic Blocks:

Every block should be dynamic.

SC06: Block Libraries & Tool Palettes:

Best practices for creating and storing block libraries and tool palettes. Make your libraries available to the whole team.

SC07: References:

Working with Inserts, Xrefs, and Underlays, DWF, PDF & Images.

SC08: 2D Draughting:

Plans, Elevations & Sections best practice techniques.

SC09: 3D Modelling Basics:

Suitable for users with no experience with AutoCAD’s 3d modelling tools. Not applicable to AutoCAD LT.

Revit Essentials

Revit Architecture Essentials 3 day course  (Earn 60 CPD Points)

This hands-on course covers the practicalities of using Revit for building design through to construction documentation. Students will be introduced to the concepts of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and the tools for parametric design and documentation.

3 days - $1,395.00 + GST per person. Lunch + am + pm tea provided.

Revit Structure Essentials 3 day course

This hands-on course covers the practicalities of using Revit for Structural building design through to construction documentation. Students will be introduced to the concepts of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and the tools for parametric design and documentation.

Revit MEP Essentials 3 day course

This hands-on course is designed for MEP engineering professionals who have completed the Revit Building or Revit Structure Essentials course. Students will learn how to create HVAC models and add plumbing, piping, electrical & fire protection systems.

SC20: Revit Families - The Basics

Create a flexible profile family and 2D detailing family while learning the basic best practice guidelines for creating great families from scratch. SC23: Revit Families - Advanced 2

How do you turn your smart & complex family into something that looks so simple, anyone could use it.

Topics covered include: Advanced Formula for Optimal Usability; Avoiding breakages; Answer your questions.

Revit Short Courses - Revit Processes (1.5 Hours)

Each course earns 10 CPD Points

SC30: Architectural Electrical + Lighting:

Objectives:

Understand the best practice techniques for producing Electrical and Lighting Layout Plans in Revit Architecture.
Understand how to create Lighting Fixtures, Switches and Outlets that incorporate both Architectural & MEP features.
Incorporate 3D models, lighting information & 2D annotative symbols into your families.
Receive a free library of typical NZ electrical 2D annotation symbols.

SC31: Architectural Plumbing + Drainage:

Objectives:

Understand the best practice techniques for producing Plumbing & Drainage plans in Revit Architecture.

Understand how to create Plumbing Fixtures that incorporate both Architectural & MEP features.

SC33: Doors, Curtain Panel Doors & Door Schedules

Objectives:

SC36: Working with DWG’s:

Objectives:

Reduce the risk of importing bad data by cleaning up your dwg files
Understand the process of converting AutoCAD lineweights or colours to Revit pens
Understand how to Export Revit drawings to DWG that conform to Layer standards.
Understand when to Link and when to Import.
Receive a free AutoCAD lisp routine to assist with cleaning up your dwg files.

SketchUp Essentials ½ day course

A half day module intended for students with little or no 3D experience who want to explore this visual environment. Visualise the interplay of light, colour, space & form in three dimensions. You will learn to create, modify and share 3D models & geometry.

½ day (9am - 1pm) $295.00 + GST per person.

Fundamentals of Effective Communication - 1 day course  (Earn 30 CPD Points)

A practical one day workshop designed for all staff who interact with clients, consultants, contractors and other staff.

Objectives: to provide skills that enable participants to feel comfortable in managing interpersonal situations from the most simple to the more complex ones.

1 day, $225.00 + GST per person.

Negotiation Management Skills - 1 day course  (Earn 30 CPD Points)

A practical course designed for Principles and other Professionals who have staff management responsibilities. A seniour level, interpersonal communications workshop, using advanced linguistics, to better understand the underlying meaning of what is being said in managing potentially differcult, tense or conflict situations.

Objectives: To reach an agreement that all parties can work with to ensure an ongoing professional relationship.
